INTRODUCTION
The design of the CHEREAU semi-trailer for long distance transport optimises its weight for maximum payload and has aerodynamic components to reduce the fuel consumption of the tractor unit. Opting for the CHEREAU PERFORMANCE range means record insulation which will reduce use of the refrigeration unit by up to 25% and minimise the risk of litigation.
CHASSIS-C
The legendary CHEREAU road-holding capacity is down to a specific chassis with a wider-than-usual axle track. This chassis combines robustness and light weight thanks to the use of high-strength steel, and offers a wide range of customised configurations for a solution perfectly adapted to the customer’s needs.
BUMPER-C
CHEREAU’s patented Bumper-C protects the vehicle when docking and has been a reference for over 15 years.
FLEX-C LED
A retracting light bracket avoiding damage to the lights in case of rear impacts.
PALLET CARRIER
The robust CHEREAU steel pallet carrier holds 36 pallets measuring 80x120. Its retractable doors open upwards, offering easy access, and can be fitted with an anti-theft device.
It can be fully customised in the customer’s colours.
The pallet carrier enables a reduction in fuel consumption of 0.5 L/100 km as compared to side underrun bars.
COMPARTMENT SOLUTIONS
A wide variety of compartments are available, ranging from tool boxes, food boxes and spare-wheel compartments to compartments with beams for two levels, etc. to satisfy all the requirements of long-distance transport.
TANK SECURITY
The CHEREAU tank has a capacity of 250 litres and allows a pallet carrier to be fitted.
It can be filled from both sides, right or left. It is protected by a lockable cap and an anti-siphoning device as standard. The direct reading gauge is fitted on the left side (or right side as an option). An electric fuel level measuring device can also be fitted.
VIP INSULATION
VIP, or Vacuum Insulated Panel technology, is a breakthrough innovation based on vacuum (the best insulation there is), and makes it possible to achieve record insulation performance.
A CHEREAU SmarTrailer Performance semi-trailer equipped with a recessed lashing rail can achieve a K factor of 0.27!
AEROTOP-C
Component of the CHEREAU aerodynamic system, the AeroTop-C is an aluminium roof deflector making it possible to save 0.3 L/100 km on long-distance trips.
AEROFLAP-C
Component of the CHEREAU aerodynamic system reducing consumption by 0.7 L/100 km or 1.1 L/100 km when combined with the AeroTop-C.
These aluminium components deploy and fold automatically when the rear doors are operated.
AIREFFICIENT-C
This ventilation duct system, developed by CHEREAU, enables the same temperature to be maintained throughout the entire body to the nearest degree and cools down the walls quicker. It optimises the performance of the refrigeration unit.
DOUBLE DECK ATD II
The ATD II system makes it possible to transport up to 66 pallets measuring 80 x 120 on two levels while complying with regulations and providing proper ventilation of the load. This optimises the flow of goods.
ANTI-THEFT AND ANTI-INTRUSION SOLUTIONS
CHEREAU offers numerous solutions to keep the goods transported safe, ranging from latches and padlocks to the most sophisticated connected door locking systems.
DOOR CONTACT
Whether to automatically switch off the refrigeration unit when the vehicle door is opened, or to feed back “doors open” information to the dashboard via telematics, the door contact is an essential accessory for energy efficiency and operating security.
TYRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM
This system has three main advantages. It avoids excess fuel consumption linked to under-inflation, reduces premature tyre wear and minimises the risk of accident.
It can be supplemented by an automatic re-inflation system.
CONNECTBOX
The ConnectBox is a new interface box between the tractor and the trailer. This standard equipment allows for expanded functionality and safety options. These include flashing clearance lights, reversing light delay and flash warning before the lights go out.
MULTI-ENERGY COOLING SOLUTIONS
CHEREAU has mastered all the existing technologies, from standard fuel- or gas-powered units to hybrid or 100% electric units.
